Eyeglasses Ordering Guide (A simple three step process)

Step -1

How To Find A Frame of Your Size

To find a frame of your size, one must measure his/her old glasses. In order to do that, please see the below figure and use the simple measuring scale cm/mm and measure it as shown below.

You can also PRINT A MEASURING SCALE HERE (Please note that 1 cm = 10 mm)

Note Your Results e.g.

e.g.  
Total Width (A) 135 mm
Lens Height (B) 30 mm
Lens Width (C) 50 mm
Nose/Bridge (D) 18 mm

 

Tips

  • Most important measurement is the Total Width.
  • You may neglect height and width of lenses but make sure that you find a frame having the accurate total width that you need.
  • Use our search engine with minimum possible search criteria for larger selection of frames.

Step -2

Enter your Prescription

 

We have two different ways to provide your prescription:

  • Enter your prescription online.

  • Upload a scanned copy of your prescription.

Reading Your Prescription

 

Patient The name of the person who is going to use the Eyeglasses.
Usage

Select Single Vision Distance - If you require them to be used as distance glasses or all time wearing in case you do not use Reading Glasses.

Select Single Vision Reading - If you require them to be used only for reading.

Bifocal/Varifocal - That option will be available only if you select Bifocal Lenses.Bifocal lenses are used for those requiring vision correction for distance as well as reading glasses.

Sphere

Enter this value from your original Prescription. Select Pl in case of Plano. There are different ways of writing this value e.g. -250 which is -2.50 or -025 which is -0.25.

Cylinder Enter this value from your original Prescription. Select none in case of DS or Sphere. There are different ways of writing this value e.g. -100 which is -1.00 or -025 which is -0.25.
Axis Enter this value from your original prescription. In case the cylinder value is none or DS or Sphere Axis will be none as well. Axis value is only given if there is any value for Cylinder. This value is between 1 Degree to 180 Degree. At times you may find this as 080 which is simply 80.
Add Only applicable for those who require vision correction for distance as well as reading. This is very important to produce Bifocals/Varifocal's as well as only reading Glasses. In case you are ordering Single Vision Reading, make sure that you enter this value and do not skip this value in any case. This value is the same for both eyes. At times Optometrist write it once which means that it is applicable for both eyes.
PD PD stands for Pupil Distance, which is the distance between  the pupil of both eyes. This is very important, especially when you have high prescription and stigmatism. Make sure to enter it correctly. In case this is not given on your prescription, you can measure it which is very easy. At times you may find two values for PD e.g. 63/61 . The first number if for distance vision PD which should be entered and the second number if Near PD. In case you have two PD values, please enter your Distance PD in the above form and leave a note in the instruction box of the cart that the near PD is 61. CLICK HERE TO READ HOW TO MEASURE PD GUIDE.
Tint Color If you would like your glasses to be sunglasses or want to have a cosmetic look, select any listed color
Tint Intensity You can select light, medium or dark intensity as per your requirement.
